Abit of a rough week

Had abit of a rough week with stress levels etc this week!! I really need to learn to handle stress better... i guess Gods way of me learning this is sending me ways to practice it hey!! lol

I was supposed to be trying the whole de-school thing this week but I wasnt very good at implementing it and ended up trying to get her to do 'school work' ... and because I had already made the mistake of discussing how we were going to de-school with her this created frustration (obviously!!) on her part as she thought there was going to be no school work for a lil bit!! so lots of arguments came up, I now realise this was totally my fault and we had a big heart to heart lastnight and so far are having an awesome Friday! So, lets hope next week continues that way!!!

I know that homeschool is completely the best way to go and is the best "school" experience/opportunity that I can offer my kids - and also the family as a whole! Its just going to take some time to figure out what curriculums, schedules etc work for us, and we will get there!!!

I have ordered one of the horizon math workbooks and we are going to try that out, I have heard lots of good stuff about horizon and I was able to view some sample pages online and they looked colourful and fun!! So will let you know how that works out!
To help with our bible study I have also ordered a book called 'Just me and mom having tea'. I am excited to get this as I looked through a friends copy and it looks like something my girls would like! Its a mother and daughter bible study.

I am loving checking out everyones homeschool blogs, thats how I have ended up spending most of my evenings this week! And reading homeschool books from the library! There are so many great ideas out there and I am finding them so helpful!

  1. Hang in there! Homeschooling is fabulous--we're on our 10th year--but it definitely has its fair share of rough weeks! Get a great read aloud book and spend lots of time reading to your daughter, let her rediscover her love for learning and pursue an interest. It will get better! {hug}
